Platform Team Leader - Software (m/f/d)

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Platform Team Leader - Software (m/f/d) to lead our Engineering strategies. In your day-to-day work, you’ll focus on streamlining the deployment, testing, and production-readiness of our autonomous robotic systems and have the opportunity to contribute to various projects that bridge the gap between software, operations, and end users.
This is a shaping role in a pioneering German dual-use technology company that develops unmanned ground vehicles for both defence and commercial applications. You’ll be working with a highly innovative, international, and dynamic team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of automation and robotics, with a clear emphasis on operational resilience and modernisation.

To join our team, you should be excited to

Act as the subject matter expert on radio communications, including setup, configuration, and best practices within our robotic platforms
Define and document deployment procedures to ensure seamless operation and integration for both teams and customers
Serve as the key technical liaison between the software engineering team and customer-facing teams, translating field feedback into technical improvements
Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers specializing in testing, cybersecurity, DevOps, and production
Oversee the bring-up and production-readiness of our robots in close coordination with hardware and software teams
Continuously improve the processes and tools required for scaling production of our autonomous systems
Drive and coordinate certification efforts to meet cybersecurity and quality compliance standards
Ensure the overall platform meets both internal and external regulatory requirements

Your Profile

Technical expertise in programming languages such as C++ and Python, with experience in ROS (Robot Operating System)
Practical experience in path planning, SLAM, and machine learning techniques for robotics
Knowledge in integrating and processing data from LiDAR, radar, GPS, and camera sensors
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems both independently and in team settings
Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), continuous integration, and Agile development methodologies
Experience with simulation environments (e.g., Gazebo) and an understanding of cybersecurity principles for autonomous systems is a plus
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field
Business proficiency in English; and German is a plus
